Regulatory News Letters February 2010 - NEW!!! Regional General Permits Issuance of Regional General Permits (RGP's) Numbers 105, 106, 107 and 108 for Publically Funded Projects - February 3, 2010
Public Information Meeting - September 1, 2009 Officials with the US Army Corps of Engineers' Savannah District held a public workshop on September 1, 2009, seeking comments on several proposed Regional General Permits (RGP's) for publicly-funded projects throughout Georgia. The proposed RGP's would streamline and expedite permit evaluations that would allow discharge of dredge or fill material into waters of the US that would have minimal impacts on wetlands and streams. Projects approved under the new proposed permits must still meet all existing goals of the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Colonel Edward Kertis, Commander of the Savannah District and Mr. Russ Kaiser, Chief of the Regulatory Division, spoke at the workshop about the RGP proposals and took questions about the regulatory process.
