Established in 1829, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District was originally charged with constructing Fort Pulaski and surveying the Savannah River. Since then, the district has played a major role in the construction of military installations throughout the southeast and the management of water resources in the Savannah River Basin and Coastal Georgia.
With more than 1,100 employees throughout Georgia and the Carolinas, the Savannah district team provides expertise across a wide range of disciplines—from engineering, architecture, design, construction, and master planning to subsurface exploration, hydropower, and environmental stewardship.
The district stands ready to deliver innovative solutions to the engineering and environmental challenges of the region and nation. Working with stakeholders and customers, the team is developing emerging technologies, sharing resources, and honing specialized engineering skills that will lead the way to a stronger and more sustainable tomorrow.
