OVERALL PROJECT PURPOSE: The applicant is proposing to complete bridge maintenance on the Talmadge Memorial Bridge over the Savannah Harbor Federal Navigation Channel. The proposed project would include the replacement of existing bridge cables, bearings, and joints. During portions of construction, the existing vertical navigational clearance of the bridge would be temporarily reduced by 31 feet. The line would be replaced at the same height as the existing line (89 feet above the ordinary high water mark), and use the existing transmission structures.
