Elberton, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake Project, in coordination with the Lake Russell Hustle organizers, will close the Russel Dam Overlook Road for 24 hours beginning at 2 p.m. March 13, 2026, for the 5K race taking place March 14.

The road will remain closed until March 14, 2026, at 2 p.m. The closure affects the lower, southern half of Russell Dam Overlook, beyond Manor Ramp Road.

As a reminder, Manor Ramp Road and Manor Creek Boat Ramp remain closed through Aug. 31, 2026, for ongoing contractor work in the area to complete the replacement of the oxygen line diffusers at Richard B. Russell Lake.

While Manor Creek Boat Ramp is closed, visitors can access Beer Garden and Millwood Boat Ramps, which are approximately three miles away.

Visitors are asked not to move or cross beyond any posted barricades and closure signs in the area.
