Corps park ranger builds future leaders through Boy Scouts
USACE Park Ranger David Quebedeaux (back, dressed in yellow) and his Boy Scout troop pose with their rubber chicken for a picture on the summit of Baldy Mountain (12,441 feet) in northern New Mexico during their hike at the Philmont Scout Ranch, June 17, 2013. Quebedeaux uses rubber chickens as a fun motivator while the Scouts hike difficult, steep trails in cold weather conditions. The troop packed multiple rubber chickens and gave them out to people they met on the trail who made a positive impression on their group. "Nobody can resist smiling when they are holding their very own rubber chicken," Quebedeaux said.
