Thurmond Lake accepting real Christmas trees soon for recycling program

CLARKS HILL, S.C. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is inviting the public to recycle natural Christmas trees for use in fisheries habitat enhancement at J. Strom Thurmond Lake. The annual recycling program will run from Dec. 20, 2025, through Jan. 18, 2026.

Corps’ Thurmond Lake Project accepts Christmas trees for recycling

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Thurmond Lake Project Office will accept natural Christmas trees (no artificial trees) for recycling Dec. 21 through Jan. 9, 2019. Artificial trees will not be accepted.
