Corps partners with Jenkins High School for STEM recruiting event
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District spoke to an estimated 150 parents and middle school students about potential engineering-related careers at Jenkins High School, Jan. 16. The event aimed to recruit middle school students to apply for the Jenkins School of Engineering, a special program of study within Chatham County with a focus on STEM—science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Architect Edward Krolikowski (right) and Senior Geologist Christian Gandy represented the Corps and answered questions from curious students (and their parents) about geology, subsurface exploration, dam and levee safety, and other aspects of the Corps.
