GIS Day 2013
SAVANNAH, Ga. – As part of a local initiative to engage middle school students in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District participated in the 7th Annual GIS Day at Savannah State University, Nov. 20, 2013. GIS Day is an annual event that introduces GIS education to local school children and promotes the capabilities and use of GIS to the general business community. More than 400 eighth graders from Chatham County schools attended the event, which featured map galleries, student activities, and an exhibitor's expo featuring GIS displays from various businesses and government agencies in the area.
