HARTWELL, Ga. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District tested the spillway gates at the Hartwell Dam, July 10, 2013. During the peak of the 90-minute test, the Corps released water at a rate of 72,000 cubic feet per second (cfs). The test was part of the Savannah District's Dam Safety Program to ensure the gates can be activated properly in the event of an emergency. USACE photo by Billy Birdwell.
