Participants of the district’s Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day held May 1 view an interactive wetlands model to learn how wetlands protect the environment. Facilitators guided participants through age-appropriate breakout sessions as students discovered the district’s expansive footprint on public works projects throughout the Southeast. They also toured facilities and learned about large-scale projects such as the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, dam operations and other salient initiatives.
