Martha Coley, pictured in her official deployment portrait, supported Operation Iraqi Freedom as a staff accountant from August 2007 to February 2008. As a Corps of Engineers employee based out of Millington, Tennessee, she often collected and sent donations to the Baghdad Division’s hospitals, orphanages and schools until she was selected for direct involvement. During her six month assignment, she worked directly with construction funding and contracts, but extended time to sort donations with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation committee and collect infant clothes for the birthing center facility built in Fallujah.
