SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold two youth dove hunts on the Georgia portion of Richard B. Russell Lake on Sept. 14 and Sept. 21. The hunts begin at 2 pm and end at sunset. Youth hunters must be 10 to 16 years old. A parent or guardian must accompany youth participants and will be permitted to shoot along with the youth hunter.
To register for the hunt, hunters must call Wildlife Manager Jeff Brooks at 800-944-7207 ext. 3424 at the Russell Project Office not later than 5 p.m., Sept. 11. Registration is free.
Parents or guardians must be licensed in accordance with existing Georgia Game and Fish Regulations including the Migratory Bird Hunting License (H.I.P). All state regulations and bag limits will be strictly enforced.
