Fish Passage report decision delayed several weeks

Published Sept. 23, 2019

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The decision and approval of the anticipated Post Authorization Analysis Report of the Fish Passage at New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam (NSBLD) will be delayed several weeks.

The original schedule estimated report approval occurring sometime in late August or early September.

There are a number of causes for the delay, to include regional mobilization and preparation for response to Hurricane Dorian as well as scheduling difficulties with key decision makers.

The delay in the final report is not expected to impact the schedule for start of construction.

The Fish Passage project is an environmental mitigation feature of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, and is required mitigation in accordance with the Endangered Species Act and the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act.
