    Bristol-EDT JV, LLC was awarded the contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, to renovate the building. Richard Tyler, Bristol-EDT JV, LLC project superintendent, arranged to donate the items to ReStore of The Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, Inc., to be repurposed at various locations in Georgia.

In a typical year, the Corps earns anywhere between $50,000 to $80,000 but this year was an especially good crop and earned more than $105,000, sold at the rate of $1.20 per pound.

    A few Diamond Elementary School students view the makings of an outdoor amphitheater at the construction site of the new school May 3. Thirteen contest winners of Archer Western Contractor’s poster contest toured the site currently under construction at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Diamond students from kindergarten through sixth-grade submitted posters emphasizing safety themes in recognition of Safety Week celebrated May 2-6. The winning submissions were printed on the firm’s calendar that will be available throughout the Fort Stewart community.

    Clock winds down as elite engineering team readies for deployment

    The new Murray Elementary School includes 456 solar photovoltaic panels and 10 solar water heating panels on the roof. These panels will augment the facility's total electrical usage and heat about 40 percent of the building's hot water.

    Construction nears completion on a $20.5 million environmentally-friendly elementary school at Fort Stewart.
