Amity Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Ramp open year round, Park open April 1 - September 30
Park Hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing or boat launching.
Directions: Amity is located off of GA Hwy 43 in Lincoln County, Georgia,
approximately 8 miles from I-20 exit 172.

 

Amenities: Launching ramp, comfort station, drinking water, picnic area, 3 large picnic shelters, 7 beaches, playgrounds, baseball field, facilities for handicapped, courtesy dock, ramp security light, fishing pier, boat launching

Fees: $5 per vehicle, Picnic shelters can be reserved in advance for $75.

Below Dam South Carolina Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Launching ramp and recreation area open year round.
Park Hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing or boat launching.
Directions: Below Dam South Carolina is located off of US Hwy 221 in McCormick County, South Carolina, The entrance Power Plant Rd. is directly across from the entrance to the J. Strom Thurmond Visitor Center. and approximately ½ mile from Thurmond Dam and the Georgia/South Carolina state line.

 

Amenities: Launching ramp for the Savannah River, comfort station, drinking water, picnic area, 1 large picnic shelter, 5 small picnic shelters, fishing pier, playground, comfort stations, facilities for handicapped.

 

Fees: Picnic shelter can be reserved in advance for $75, Mini shelters can be reserved in advance for $10

Clarks Hill Park Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Launching ramp and Elijah beach open year round, Rest of park open April 1 - September 30
Park Hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing or boat launching.
Directions: Clarks Hill Park is located in McCormick County, South Carolina 2 miles from the J. Strom Thurmond Visitor Center. From the visitor center follow US 221 for approximately 2 miles and the park is located on the left

 

Amenities: Launching ramp, courtesy dock, fishing pier, fish cleaning station picnic area, 3 picnic shelters, 7 mini shelters, comfort station, 2 swim beaches.

 

Fees: $5 per vehicle. Shelters can be reserved in advance for $25, $75 or $125, mini shelters can be reserved in advance for $10-$20

Lake Springs Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Launching ramp and Deer Run open year round, Rest of park open April 1 - September 30
Park Hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing or boat launching.
Directions: Lake Springs is located in Columbia County, Georgia. From the J. Strom Thurmond Visitors Center, take US 221 across the bridge to the Georgia side of the lake continue for 4 miles and turn left onto Lake Springs road, follow the road to the end where the park begins.

 

Amenities: Launching ramp, courtesy dock, fish cleaning station, fishing pier, multiple comfort stations, picnic area, 4 picnic shelters (Reservable!) 13 swim beaches, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, walking/riding trails, Bartram Trail entrance point.

 

Fees: $5 fee per vehicle, Shelters can be reserved in advance for $75 or $125

Gill Point Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Day use area is closed for the 2014 season.
Park Hours: 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. unless actively fishing or boating.
Directions: Gill Point is located in Lincoln County, Georgia. From Lincolnton, Georgia, go North on GA 79 for approximately 20 miles, turn right onto Gills Point road and follow brown directional signs.

 

Amenities: Launching ramp, comfort station, drinking water, picnic area, picnic shelter, courtesy dock, ramp security light.

 

Fees: $5 per vehicle for boat launching, $5 for day-use; picnic shelter can be reserved in advance for $25.

Parksville Recreation Area
Park Information
Season: Launching ramp open year round, park openApril 1 - September 30
Park Hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing or boat launching
Directions: Parksville is located in McCormick County, South Carolina. From the J. Strom Thurmond Visitors Center take US 221 North for 2 1/2 miles and turn left onto SC 28, follow for 8 miles to the town of Parksville, park is on the left, follow signs.

 

Amenities: Launching ramp, fish cleaning station, picnic area, 2 shelters, 2 beaches, restrooms.

 

Fees: $5 per vehicle, Shelters can be reserved in advance for $50 or $125

West Dam Recreation Area Park Information
Season: First loop open year round, rest of park open April 1 - September 30
Park hours: 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. unless actively fishing
Directions: West Dam Recreation Area is located in Columbia County, Georgia, 1 mile from the visitors center. From J. Strom Thurmond Visitors Center drive across the dam, park is the first right.

 

Amenities: Comfort stations, picnic area, 2 playgrounds, facilities for handicapped, 1 Shelter, 10 mini shelters, 7 beaches, Bartram Trail entrance point.

 

Fees: $5 per vehicle, Shelter can be reserved in advance for $125, mini shelters can be reserved in advance for $10
