PARKSVILLE, SC. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, J. Strom Thurmond Project has temporarily closed Parksville Day Use Area due to a public safety concern resulting from a large sink hole in the entrance road. Currently, there isn’t an estimated reopening date. Guests are asked to please refrain from entering the park at this time.
This closure doesn’t affect the Parksville Wayside Park. There are nearby alternative locations for boat launching or day use activities during the closure. Please use Modoc Boat Ramp, Scotts Ferry Boat Ramp or Clarks Hill Recreation Area.
