Army planners finish environmental study for Brunswick Harbor widening and expansion

After three years, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) planners finalize an environmental study for Brunswick Harbor, Ga.’s widening, expansion, operation and maintenance. Corps officials signed a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the study May 25.

Men’s overconfidence leads to unnecessary drownings

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Nearly 90 percent of drownings at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ lakes are adult males and it seems arrogance – thinking they can swim and lame excuses, like life jackets are uncomfortable or unflattering, lead to drownings in many cases.
