SAVANNAH, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, announces fee increases for camping and shelter reservations as well as special event permits at the J. Strom Thurmond and Hartwell Lake Projects effective Jan. 1, 2023.
Fee updates are a result of the Fiscal Year 2022 User Fee Comparability Study. The study was completed at both projects, performing a comparison of facilities, amenities, and fee structures with local, state, county, and private campgrounds and parks.
Existing campground, shelter reservations and special event applications will be honored at the rate when originally submitted.
All campground and shelter reservations can be completed via Recreation.gov or by calling the reservation hotline at 877-444-6777. Reservations placed or modified on or after Jan. 1, 2023, will incur the new rates listed in the tables below.
